Re: Ouch!

I`d buy it if he had a couple N.O.S. bedsides, front panel, wheelhouses, and floor pan/crossmembers to go with it.Couldn`t be more than $5,000 for the package. Then`I`d just have to find an immaculate $35,000 truck that needed a bed.

They don't.... There's no guarantee a NOS tailgate will fit perfectly either; remember these trucks were built in the late 60's and early 70's when quality and great fit only happened when the plants, moon and stars aligned properly, not gaps and body panels....

Re: Ouch!

He's looking for a buyer that is completing a 20-30 thousand dollar restoration, and figures 'if he's in for a penny, he's in for a pound'! In other words, "I've spent mega bucks on the rest of the truck, I might as well not scrimp on the tailgate!" Been there, done that, bank account is empty to prove it....!

Re: Ouch!

850 to start and 1k for the BIN? no thanks. i'd rather get a refurbable one from a yard and dip, then repaint it.

The offshore tailgate I put un my Blazer fit perfect. The only thing is it is about half the weight of an oem gate. I filled it with expanding spray foam to make it sound solid. The offshore gate is junk though in my opinion, it just doesn't stand up to the abuse I put it through, it dents as easily as a new toyota fender.

Re: Ouch!

SactoJim, kinda hard to find Sacramento area board members. Even harder now since I moved. If you are lookin for parts... Look up Tomatocity. His name is Tim. Nice guy. I heard he was gettin out of the trucks. He has a non-runner 67 and a daily driver 72 frankenstein. Act fast. He put em on Craigs list.
