GMC Emblem ?

I saw where there is a fender emblems that say "GMC 1500 Super Custom" What would that truck come with to rate that emblem? My GMC emblem says "GMC 1500 V8".

Re: GMC Emblem ?

I don't know the answer... and don't really even know if there is an aswer, being I have never heard of an option package by that nem... however, i know it is not the same as a CST/Cheyeene... the Z84 option on a GMC is a Sierra.

Re: GMC Emblem ?

SuperCustom/GMC=CustomDeluxe/Chevrolet
GMC 1500 V8 is a base truck that has the V-8 option.

Re: GMC Emblem ?

Mine say "GMC 1500 V-EIGHT" , I also have the chrome script "Custom" badges on the doors above the handles. I imagine its certain option packages that designate plain jane, custom or supercustom trucks but I don't know exactly where those lines are drawn.

I had a friend who owned a supercustom but sold it shortly after. The new owner removed the original 350 and installed a straight 6 , (foole). The supercustom my friend had was equipped with upper/lower trim package, front sway bar and aux. rear leaf springs. I imagine front and rear coil springs were heavy duty as well.

Re: GMC Emblem ?

I had a 71 GMC super custom once also for parts...had upper and lower trim and rear leaf suspension. Still have the emblems actually.

Re: GMC Emblem ?

A Super Custom is what my 71 GMC is. It has leaf springs, heavy duty coils in front, a factory Tach, tilt wheel, cloth interior, lower trim and a stripe up above, the tool box mounted in the lower part of the bedside, the chrome trim piece between the white/green on the cab. I haven't looked at the build sheet for awhile so I can't remember what else.
