Exclamation Finally!! A shiny vermillion colored truck!!

I've been on a quest to see one of these 67-68 trucks still in its non faded, lusterous state and think I found it. Is this how you guys remember them when they were new, the dark red color that is.

It looks good. The rest of the truck is nice and stock. I have a 67 that's this color with a white top. I might have to redo it in the original color.

Re: Finally!! A shiny vermillion colored truck!!

The description says it was repainted in 1998, so thats not the original non faded luster.

Not sure what you are getting at Al. Its been coverd since it was painted so I'm sure its not faded much.. I know it's not original type paint. I'm sure being base/clear it's shine is much deeper than it was new. Paint has come a long way since then.
Most of these trucks this color are powder, chalk pinkish in color now if they are original.

Re: Finally!! A shiny vermillion colored truck!!

The truck in the auction looks like the factory "Vermillion Red Poly" to me. It does have a burgandy look to it. I had a factory '68 CST with that paint. I am sure the shade and brightness is different with new paint technology compared to the original paint.
