please help

Okay i had to replace my window motor. Everything i read told me i had to remove window and regulater. I have done all this. When removing the window i had to remove the outer seal and channel. Of course everything is dry rotted and fell apart on me. I am now looking at the LMC catalog to find the parts. Where should i stop in ordering new parts. I am sure everything is bad, as a metter of fact i now everything is bad. The vent window is only attached at the top and i just push on it to get it to stay closed. I did not want to fix it now but since i have to replace everything with the window should i replace the vent window assembly now as well. Or will i be able to access it later with out damaging the work i have already done.

Re: please help

Personally i would replace everything now since it is going to be apart anyway. If your door seals are cracking then you chanel seals are probably not letting you power window motor to operate smoothly anyway. Make sure you lube up the regulator while your in there. I bought new door shells for my 86 and power window setup. I am going to replace the motor and the lock actuator when i swap the parts over, just because they are such a pain to do later.

Re: please help

Check Ebay.

I replaced all my felts, channels, and got all the rubber for the window. I rebuilt the wing windows myself. I found all the parts on ebay. It was pretty easy really. I used pop rivets to put the window channels in with, instead of the factory rivets.

Hope this helps

Re: please help

I have purchased this and many other rebuild kits for weather stripping and suspension parts online with www.p-s-t.com, they carry some nice kits. Check them out.
