disc/drum proportioning valve?

I am looking at updating from drum/drum to disc/drum brakes. I purchased a power booster a couple of months back, and it came with a proportioning valve that looks nothing like my drum/drum prop valve, so I guess I am assuming that its a disc/drum valve, but can anyone give me some pics. The tubing locations appear to be in different locations, so I will have to rebend some plumbing, and I want to try to keep it looking relatively correct.

I also have two different mc's one is much larger than the other, am I better off using the larger of the two to keep the fluid cooler?

Re: disc/drum proportioning valve?

I am using this proportion valve by using I mean it is loosely bolted to the master cylinder. I plan on hopefully finishing everything up tomarrow.

As for master cylinders you also need a disk/drum one. I'm not real sure what you have but would recomend one of these

Re: disc/drum proportioning valve?

My 70 blazer was power drum originally. Someone had installed a newer front end. The power boosters are pretty much the same. The prop valve is different. The line fittings are different and the bracket that holds the valve are different. I bought new lines and was going to install them. but they didn't match up correctly. Not sure if that had to do with the front end. So I think one of your original lines will fit the prop vale and one is too small. I went to the plumbing store and got a male/female adapter. For me tthat was the quickst fix. It has worked fine.

Re: disc/drum proportioning valve?

most aftermarket prop valves are 1/8" pipe thread to 1/4", bo reducers and fitting are available at most good parts stores(autozone is not a good parts store, lol). I used an aftermarket adjustable wilwood valve and it works fine. I bought it from jegs or summit for about 40 dollars shipped.
