TPI on old generation 327 (67)
Is there any issues with compatability as far as new gen head and TPI on an old bottom end? (67 327) I am concidering putting a TPI on my 67. Has anyone done this? Any help would be apreciated. I have seen TPIs from the mid to late 80's that range from 400 to 800USD. I know they need the wiring harness but is there a lot of compatability issues with the wireing?
Thanks, JRB |

Re: TPI on old generation 327 (67)
A TPI would be a nice set up on a 327 it will bolt directly to the older heads just fine. If your serious about the conversion find a complete donor car and just swap everything over. Alot of info on this board and on the net about the TPI and TBI conversion. I would also suggest an aftermarket stand alone wiring harness Painless makes them and other companies as well.

Re: TPI on old generation 327 (67)
Oh yeah to clarify the TPI intake manifolds that will bolt directly to the older heads were on Corvettes with aluminum L98 cylinder heads. The TPI intakes that were on 87 and newer F-bodies have the 4 center bolts at 72 degree angles but can be easily modified to accept pre 86 iron cylinder heads.
