Re: Whats the name of your project???
My kids named my 86 dually 1 ton big block sub the ''SUB-MARINE'' I have a marine disributor and cap - snorkel-combo . and a long list of other home made mods that make this bad boy extremely water worthy,When it rains and gets really deep my kids beg me ''and I've got six of em'' to go out lookin for the deep stuff and we have a ball,My truck mechanically is top notch but Im not much for finish work I popped holes in the floor boards towards the after end of the truck I just remove the plastic hole caps and gas it,All I got is rubber floor mats I put a layer of foam and duct tape over my front seats A pair of 20$ seat covers and shes finished. My older kids call it the'' EL-NINO WAGON ''for the same reasons . So I guess its got two names and the kids came up with both so I just drive as directed. THE-SUBMARINE...OrThe...EL-NINO-WAGON...Hell I like them both.

Re: Whats the name of your project???
After I bought my 67 K20 I drove it to my dads place to take him for a test drive. After getting it good and hot playing in the mud. I Tried to shut it off and it dieseled for a solid 20 seconds. He thought it was going to explode and named it "THE BOMB".
The name stuck even after I tuned the carb and reset the timing. |

Re: Whats the name of your project???
My buddy named mine "rock n' roll". I think it works, the truck is pretty popular around here and its so loud and obnoxious that it causes a stir wherever i go so it fits.

Re: Whats the name of your project???
I should call it "project cost too much" or "project why the hell won't this darn part fit???" or maybe "project pain in the ass."
Truth be told, I love working on my truck, but I have no "project name" for it. My girlfriend named her Faith, and I kinda like that But project faith kinda sounds dumb.

Re: Whats the name of your project???
Wife named mine "The Beast" right after I got it. It was a real pile and she wouldn't ride in it at first.
The boat has been named "Just One More Time" for numerous reasons

Re: Whats the name of your project???
I bought my 72 from a neighbor, but the truck was built by my brother-in-law. They put the truck together in less than a week, so when I started to tear it down it was a total redneck engineering mess... But when I got the truck, it had 10" meats all the way around (does wonders for front-end allignment lol) and was painted a custom "redneck brother-in-law" light, purple metallic color. My sister named it "The Grape Ape"...
The further my father and I get into disassembling the truck, the more it becomes "Project Damn them boys..." Last edited by Tcal; 05-06-2006 at 08:51 PM. |

Re: Whats the name of your project???
Since I bought mine from my Grandparents which owned it since it was new ,I tell my 3 and 6 year old it's Greatgrampas truck. It's about 3/4 done through a Rotissere frame up restoration and my boys and I can't wait till it's done.I think because of the centimental value the name will have to stick.
