Cheyenne with Chev car 402... worth it?
Found a 72 Chev Cheyenne with a 1972 car 402 in it. Most brackets wrong cause they swapped in different rads and alts and PS. He's asking about 2400 US or 3500 Canadian. The truck is an original 72 Cheyenne Super Camper Special, which did origianlly come with a 402 but its been changed out to a car 402 over its life time... suffix code says car block. Only decent options are tach and tinted glass... not much decent trim on the truck but its not too bad a shape. Worth it. I'll try to post pic tonight.

Rod,I would say yes as long as the body is decent and the truck run good. The brackets can be switched if you wanted it to be factory correct.

There is no difference between the car 402 and the truck 402. Same 2 bolt mains, same cast crank, same small port heads. I know. I had the matching numbers big block 325 hp 396 out of mine and I tore it apart. same stuff. And thats with a 3/4 ton and manual tranny. I thought it would have 4 bolt mains at least ...nope. Thats one of the reasons I went with a different motor
