New guy from Arkansas - formerly TX.
Hi all,
I just wanted to introduce myself. I'm Jim Holley from Little Rock, AR. and I just got a '71 Chevy Blazer. I'm going to be coverting it to 2 wheel drive and I'm gonna have lots of questions. My main hobby is old VW's, as you might be able to figure out from my signature, but my first car was a '71 LWB C-10 and I've loved the body style ever since. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=197794

Re: New guy from Arkansas - formerly TX.
Thanks,
It's very solid. One spot of rust on pass. rear qtr. (about the size of a silver dollar) and a little at the edge of the inside floors near both doors (the usual place). Jim

Re: New guy from Arkansas - formerly TX.
Welcome to the board from West Tennessee. Good luck on the change from 4 wheel to 2 wheel drive. Somebody did that not long ago and wrote all about it with pictures. Might have to do a little digging to find it but it's here.

Re: New guy from Arkansas - formerly TX.
Thanks Ron,
I'll look around for it. I've seen a couple posts about some of the things that need to be done but I didn't find that one.

Re: New guy from Arkansas - formerly TX.
Hey Boog,
We're practically neighbors. I've been to the big car show in Searcy once, I think 2 years ago. I was there with my '57 beetle - babyblue and white with blue wall tires. http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/alb...p?pic_id=89082 We'll have get together sometime at a show. Do you ever go to the Cruisers shows in Little Rock? I like the hot rod.

Re: New guy from Arkansas - formerly TX.
Welcome from Calgary, great to see another VW fan on here. I ve got a couple old VW,s, a 69 that was my first car purchase, 23 years ago, and a 55 Oval that is slowely being tranformed. BIG Brembos and 18's, and whatever else that Porsche will allow to be altered to fit the old girl.
Great looking 57 by the way.

Re: New guy from Arkansas - formerly TX.
Het Calgary,
I'd love to see some pics of your car in progress. Mine in Very resto-custom - looks stock but has hi-po engine and tranny and bigger brakes, not as big as yours, of course, but later stock brakes, soon to be type 3 in the rear. Give me a shout at babyblueoval@sbcglobal.net

Re: New guy from Arkansas - formerly TX.
Boog,
I'll definitely let you know if I'm headed that way. Right now my beetle has the engine and tranny out for a little maintenance (she marks her spot a bit to agressively ) but I'll try to be at the next show there in Searcy. It'll take me a while to get the blazer the way I want it but I should have it drivable in a few months. Jim
