3 on tree - shorten column
Can I get by with cutting 1.5-2 inches out of the lower column then shoving the whole column forward and still be able to adjust and use the 3 on the tree column shifting? 66 C10 thanks

Dennis, With a big hammer and money, anything is possible. My question is, Why are you asking? What are you trying to do?

Re: 3 on tree - shorten column
My friend has a 66 --he is about 6'6" and needs more room. I can cut 1-2" out of the botton part of the column shaft but wondered how much prob on the column shift after I push the culumn into the dash. thanks

Re: 3 on tree - shorten column
Dennis, OK, I see what you are asking. I think you will run into problems with the shift linkage from the shift tube to the tranny. (unless you shorten the shift tube by the same distance) When you move the column forward, you will move the shift tube and shift levers forward also. I think your friend just needs to get used to driving close the the wheel.
