pic request - stipped seat fram
I stripped my seat down to the frame today, And i knew it was bad, but not this bad... I know there is a cross bar that runs across the back of the bottom of the seat... because mine was there. but it just fell out as i was taking the foam out.
IT was all bent and mangled... I need a pic of where the bracket attaches too, so i can make a new one and weld it in... thank you! Last edited by nathan_454; 05-11-2006 at 03:59 AM. |

Re: pic request - stipped seat fram
Here are a few shot's of when I was rebuilding my buckets.
Bare frame. Frame had been bent and repaired in the past. I added an extra support rod in the back welded up the cracks and made new sheet metal skirts to replace the bent and broken ones. Made some attachment points for the seat covers and tacked them in place. Then to help prevent the seat back from being ben tbackwards again I added two 1x1/4" flat steel to each corner of the seat. Then got the frames powder coated and recovered them with the old foam. ALL the pic's of the bucket rebuild can be seen HERE

Re: pic request - stipped seat fram
Great work.
On ebay they have powder coating spray guns. Can I spray a powder coat myself at home instead of paint?

Re: pic request - stipped seat fram
You'll need an oven to bake/cure the powder coating.
For some reason my wife has a problem with my car stuff in the oven with the Thanksgiving Turkey.
