If your not a smoker you could modify your cig lighter to act as a ground interupt for a continous duty relay that when pushed in the truck would run and in the out or removed position nothing would work. Very stealthy.

BILL -- I JUST PUT A TOGGLE SWITCH IN LINE, IN MY NUETRAL SAFTY SWITCH (PURPLE WIRE) & MOUNTED THE SWITCH ON THE TOP SIDE OF MY STEERING COLLUMB BRACE. IT CAN'T BE SEEN LOOKING UP UNDER THE DASH, YOU HAVE TO STICK YOUR HAND UP THERE & FEEL FOR IT. NOT VERY HIGH TECH, BUT IT'LL SLOW DOWN THE SCUMBAG THEIVES & THEY ALWAYS SEEM TO BE IN A HURRY. JOHN

(I ALSO PUT ONE OF THOSE TRUCK CLUBS ON IT WHENEVER I PARK IT. I KNOW IT'S NOT FOOLPROOF BUT HAS WORKED SO FAR)

I had a switch hidden under the dash of my Triumph Spitfire a few years ago, it just cut the ignition circuit so the engine turned over but no spark. Unfortunately after the car had been laid up for a few months in my parents drive I completely forgot about this switch which I had naturally turned to the off position when parking it up and subsequently spent nearly two hours dismantling the ignition and fuel systems trying to get it to start. Phoned a friend for suggestions and the first thing he said was "have you flicked your hidden switch?" Guess which one of us felt real stupid that day.....

Does go to show that it works, I couldn't start it and it was my car!

Oh yeah, a friend of mine had his wired into the brake light switch so you had to have your foot on the brake to start it. When he got pulled by the fuzz one night he had to go and start the car for them so they could drive it to the pound!

clubs are a total joke. i was repossing cars for a few months and i can have a club off in under 5 seconds with only a 5 pound hammer without damaging the car in anyway

the lighter idea sounds pretty cool, double O-7 status, hehehe, or you can hide a push button switch under the carpet or in your seat, how bout installing a shield under your dash so they can't get under there and fk around with the wiring. heres a tip, my friend is the top stereo installer at his shop. he only does custom work now. he know the wiring of almost any car car you can think of. All he needs is a blade, slim jim, and your car is gone. the only car he can't steal is a mercedes with a laser cut key. but everything else is up for grabs. even if you got a alarm it not hard to by-pass it.

I will be putting an electronic fuel pump on mine once the ZZ502 is in. I was thinking about putting an in-line switch on that. I haven't decided where to put the switch just yet.

Thank's for the idea's , I have always put the kill switch on the coil wire .

I really like the idea of using it on the electric fuel pump and neutral start switch .

Thanks Again

Bill

I wonder, then, if it's possible to buy the Mercedes key and cylinder, and shield the underside with sheet aluminum held by Torx bolts or soemething else your average thief isn't going to carry?

If anything, it'd be cool to get the badass MBenz key. They're just sweet, heh. My dad's E320 (you know, the racecar I got caught in, LOL...it's already a family joke) has one.

Hell, then even replace the door lock cylinders with the IR receivers...

I'm getting ambitious.

Any kill switch you can put anywhere has to help prevent a thief from making your truck a target. Put a kill switch someplace under the dash on under the seat.If they really want your truck they can just tow it away..So what you are doing is trying to prevent some theif easy access..Object is to delay his progress. So you can catch him and beat some sense into his head or have him look for a easier target elsewhere perferably the f%#d down at the end of the block..
