Troubleshootiong Gas Gauge????
Okay, my gas gauge stays at Empty...maybe 1/4
here is what I did today... pulled the sending ubit...with float lowered it measures 1ohm and with float raised, it measures 90ohms The float floats The wire from the sending unit to the fuse box ohms out good What next???? Thanks,

Okay, i just read my post. Yes, my gas gauge stays between Empty and 1/4, but it does actually have gas (expensive gas) in the tank.

I agree with jsb and I think if the gauge itself is good, can try by grounding out the sending unit wire and it will go past empty(shorted out), or unplug the wire and it should go past full(open circuit)

There was not even a wire hooked up and the needle stays at just over EMPTY. I think the gauge is bad.

Pull the insterment panel, and make sure that the printed circuit is still good. I've seen more of them damaged that actual bad guages.
