leaf spring question

What i do know is the 72 blazer has a 46" front spring and 52" rear spring.

I was told the 73-up has a 50" front and a ? rear.

Does anyone know the exact length of both front and rear of the next gen blazers?

I'm still running stacked blocks in the rear and i want to do something different with it. so i'm looking at used springs but I'm not sure what other springs will fit the rear.

Re: leaf spring question

The rear springs are 52" the same on most 69-87, but some have 56" rear springs so you will have to measure.

meaning if i find a used lift kit for a 73-87 rig there is (if it has arched rear springs) a good chance they will fit?

Re: leaf spring question

Yes, just measure straight across from spring eye to spring eye and it should be either 52" or 56" most that i've seen are 52".

Re: leaf spring question

So i get a phone call for the 4" springs i'm trying to sell and the guy wants to know how long they are so i actually measure them and they are only 44", i measured on the truck and they are 44" as well, so now i'm confused, where does the 46" come in?

That was measure from bolt center to bolt center.

Re: leaf spring question

With the spring uninstalled, I think it measures 44". Once it flexes down, when installed, the rear coupler bracket that holds the spring swings back about 2 inches, I think that's when it measures 46".

Where did you get 46" from? All of my front springs measure about 43 1/2 ". So i would say 44" is the right number.

Re: leaf spring question

Don`t let this confuse you.Just know what they came off of.The spring length
is all the same on all models`73-up front springs.Same with the rears 1st gen.all the way to the end of 2nd gen.and pickups. The Suburbans had longer springs in the rear. You can always pick a lift kit company`s brain, then buy used.

So if i want a set of 4" arched springs for the rear i can get them from just about any blazer/truck through the early 80's?
