rocker repair question.

I need to repair the channel showed in the picture, I borrowed the pic from someone on the site, thank you.

I have small rust holes in the bottom of the channel itself.

Re: rocker repair question.

How much of that in length do you need I have a 30" brake so I can bend you one from 20 gage sheetmetal if you pay the shipping to get it mailed to you.

Re: rocker repair question.

pretty much the whole length.... but its not perfectly square is it? it looks like its more of a rounded bend?

Re: rocker repair question.

If I want to do a slightly radiused bend I just do it in a couple of steps instead of breaking a crisp line. I have my 69 sitting with the floors exposed so I can copy the part pretty easy probably.

Re: rocker repair question.

that would be awesome if you could. I would gladly pay for shipping and the steel itself.... especially if youve got a truck there to copy it from.

Re: rocker repair question.

I wonder if it would be easiest to cut it out at the bend, or an inch or so into the flat part of the floor itself?

Re: rocker repair question.

No sweat let me give it a shot. I'm busy for a couple of days but I'll try to knock one out and send you a picture. How far into the floorboard do you need it to go?

Re: rocker repair question.

Yeah...we are both talking about the same part. Like I said my 69 is sitting in the garage 8 feet from my brake so it's easy enough to just copy mine. I sent you a pm with my email in case you have any other info or questions.

Re: rocker repair question.

hey you read my mind i was just planning to do the same thing!! my truck is rusted through in the same area. but i didnt think is was bad enought to have to replace the floor. the rest of the floor plan is in good shape. my plan was to replace the rocker and that same section you are talking about.

Oldtruckfanatic are you taking orders on the sheet metal? if so id like a pair. i would gladly compensate you for your time / materials / shipping.

It's not what you can see that you have to worry about, the problem is that cab supports are under the floor there and a likely rusted out. Common problem for all of us. There is a great "cancer support" thread over on CK5.com that you should take a look at. http://coloradok5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=54050

Good luck with it. Lots of folks here can help.

Mike
