My Area Sucks For Buyin`

Just one example:
I see a `71 Blazer for sale along the road,maroon/black top, chrome mods/33s,and 4" lift.As I walk up,I see it has holes in the rockers and bottom/front of the rear 1/4s,mud tread on rear/TrailT/As on front, and the paint is new,but not so smooth(quicky). There bubbling along the bottom of the tailgate which has no letters,I think they were filled. It`s got a poly tank,headers/no exhaust, old lift kit,and no torsion boxes at all.No mirror on right side and a 68-70 mirror on the left door. The interior is what set it off.The dash:no pad, radio(slots cut between knob holes and rectangle),and no heat controls. The floor was bare and painted black. The floor had more metal pop-riveted in than original, including angles all around the wheel tubs, bottom of kick panels, andrear sidewalls. They left the hole above the crossmember under where the back seat would be if it had one.No door panels or handles and I opened the buttonless passenger door by popping the mechanism inside the door through the hole. The front seats, from whatever, were just sitting in there rocking chair style. The passenger just set there, the driver`s might have had a bolt for safety. It had a TH350/NP205/350,probably the only options besides the l/o hubs. The motor may have been the crowning jewel with MSD ignition, rusty chrome valve covers, aluminum intake,4bbl.
I described it pretty well,eh?How much would you guess it had on it?What would it be in your area? The price was typical for my area and it "will" sell.
C`mon,take a shot!

Re: My Area Sucks For Buyin`

I'm going to guess $6000. Its been about 2yrs or so but a guy off of indian head hwy Had a totally rustfree blazer he got from the guy who runs the truck shop in tennessee(very high end) It was partially dissembled but it was rustfree loaded cst. Also another 72 that was far better than the one you described He wanted $ 6,000 for the pair. I had no room so I passed and he had a hard time selling them.

I'll guess... $3000..
Around here it sounds like FREE would be too expensive.. There have been several locally in the $500 - $650 range

Re: My Area Sucks For Buyin`

Hey pound41,That`s a good deal for anywhere.Jerry Brown`s stuff is top shelf. And,the other one was better than the one I described. That`s a deal of a lifetime for around here, lol. There`s good money here and things rust.It seems people see what clean stuff goes for in other parts of the country and base their pricing on that,if not more.Yet,if I tryed to sell one of my unrestored original western trucks,I wouldn`t get as much as a patched up shiney one.I have two Blazers,a`rough but complete`70CST and a former New Mexico`72 w/o motor/trans/t-case.It has rocker rust, but a good start.I paid $1,300 for it to get the parts and then $400 for the`70 to get`em back. What I have should be worth more than this one I looked at.But,I wouldn`t think asking 1/2.
I`m waiting for more guesses,no hints.

Re: My Area Sucks For Buyin`

damn, in my area, (S. FL.) old beat to hell, rusted out ones sell for at least $4000-$6000.

A guy that works in an industrial paint/chemical supply place would always say he loved my truck and that he had a blazer.

after a few years of this he told me he was going to sell it. He said If i'm interested....

I definitly was, I knew he was asking $12,000 , and went by the next day.

Well, you could see through it from the outside, and was in a condition that made me wonder how it was all held together. Oh yeah, it was the rust holding it together!

He actually sold it for $10,000!!!

so in S. FL, Blazers go for much more than I think they should!!!

Re: My Area Sucks For Buyin`

Yup,$4,500.It`s not worth $1,500 or even more than $500 to me.That`s what I`d probably sell mine together for($500).

Re: My Area Sucks For Buyin`

If I went and bought those Blazer/Jimmys and hauled them back here, they`d go for $7,500 ea.But,probably sell real slow, except the ones with shiney paint.I could get more and sell those quicker.
