78 front crossmember swap?
I know this has been on here before, but just making sure before I do it. I have a 78 parts truck. I can unbolt front crossmember with everything still attached and roll it right under my 69 frame, right?
thanks |

I just did that mod a little while ago. Yes it works, but you have to oblong two holes and drill two new ones. These holes are located on the vertical part of the frame ( where the upper control arm mounts.) Also you have to use the "69 motor mounts. The '78 mounts are too tall. The newer style frame is a taller unit. This in no way affects the suspension swap. Even the power steering and idler arm bolt right up from the '78. Good luck.
