alternator wiring
Can someone verify this? On an internally regulated alternator (one wire set-up), do both wires from the plug connect to the (+) post on the back of the alternator? If not, where does the small wire go?

As I understand it, you don't need the wires at all to excite the alternator. Just one wire direct from the alternator to the battery. There was just a post about this mod a few weeks back that had schematics and instructions posted with it called One Wire Alternator. If your setup is the same then you don't need the wires at all.

Ooops! I guess I really didn't mean "1-wire" set-up. I've got an internally regulated "2=wire" alternator. I figured it out though. The red wire from the plug goes to the "bat" terminal on back of the alternator and the small white wire goes to ignition 12V. From what I understand, the small wire "activates" the alternator so it isn't "charged" with the ignition off.
