What other core support will work for 67-68 Chev?

Will a 69-72 support work with mods? If so, what mods? What about a GMC support? I have the grille, hood and fenders to put the 67 clip on my truck. However, I can't find a good core support. I have one off of a 69 in really nice shape and would like to use it if I can. Any info would be appreciated and pics would help a bunch.

Re: What other core support will work for 67-68 Chev?

If you look at a 67/68 core you will see rolled edges around the headlight buckets on the core itself along with the square holes for the adjusters and the retaining spring. I have seen some 69 cores that had these but I don't they all do. Those would be the only areas of concern. It's much easier to go the other way and add 69-72 or GMC brackets to a 67-68.

Hope this helps - Bob

GREAT info there. Looks like the 67 GMC clip I will be getting will work out perfect. I just need to remove the additional bucket.
I was going to swap clip with a truck I just bought for my brother, but NOW he decides he likes the 67-68 as well. Oh well, what are brothers for?
Scored a 67 Short step for $650. I'm going to do the patch panels for him then it's all his to complete how he wants.
