shipping a used gas tank ???????

Well sorry I'm full of questions lately!!! Hows the best way to ship a used gas tank? Greyhound or what. How can you cover up the smell? I need to get a quote for shipping in the next couple days. Thanks any help is appreciated. Randy

Good luck. That hazardous cargo sticker that they want to put on the box kinda drives up the price.

ive ehard if you triple rinse something in water, then there is no trace, id use vinegar though, nothing stinks like that

Flush it out with detergent and water and send it fedex ground. Theyre the cheapest if not the most reliable shipper.

Ask Longhorn, Jamie72, Bill, etc. for a pair of their old socks! That will MASK the odor of the gas for sure!!

It is illegal to ship a fuel tank that's used in a sealed container, by federal statute it's considered hazardous waste. If it crosses a state line it's a federal matter, or if you ship with a federally licensed carrier. You have to declare what it is when you ship it, and obtain necessary permits and placards to label it properly. As a matter of safety for the truck carrying it, and the driver, you should follow the rules. Just my $.02 worth as someone who knows a ton of truck drivers.
