i went into the FAQ thread index and looked for the word "shorten" and got this:

shorten the frame from LWB to SWB: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=123624

which then led me to search on this forum for "shorten" which turned up this ECE article (which is NOT recommended by many here): http://www.earlyclassic.com/tech.aspx?category=Longbed,%20No!-Shortbed

and also this (which is recommended): http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...hlight=shorten

and i'll bet there's a half dozen more!
