question

I just had to put a new engine in my truck...which is bitter-sweet since im 23 and had to drop 3600 on it, but anyways
i got a gm goodwrench rebuilt 350 and was wondering how i can tell what the HP is on it...thanks in advance

according to that... about 249HP @ 5000RPM / 304ft/lb torque @ 3500RPM... just the base though, so after that, it depends on what you've got on top... I'd imagine you're probably pushing ~245-265HP, but that all depends on what you've got on that motor...

cool...i'm runnin an edelbrock performer intake and carb and ceramic coated dynomax headers with flowmaster super 40's...so i'm not runnin as bad as i thought. Thanks!

no, not too badly. I'm expecting you push probably ~260HP, around that area.

OUCH 3600 bucks on a GM repro, I spent 1700 on my GM crate, yours must be the performance version! RIGHT?

no 3600 was for installation and everything...the engine by itself only cost 1600

WOW.....that is more than I paid for my WHOLE truck.....please please please tell me that has a decent warranty on it for $3600!

I can sympathize though, my truck has been on jack stands for the last two months.....and there have been times when I would have paid $3600 to have it back

Yea the engine has a pretty good warranty on it...1 year from my mechanic and 3 year/100k from GM. The thing is i needed to keep working and i either had the money or the time to drop the engine in...but not both. *sigh* On the plus side, its doin a heck of alot better than it was...so im pleased with my investment so far
