header mounting questions
I have a set of ceramic coated headers....they are blockhugger style and I know I can bolt them on the engine with no problem but it's the other end I'm not sure of......I don't owna a welder and I know I'll need anextension piece of some sort to make it fit correctly.....I am considering a piece of flex exhaust tubing but am not sure on how to seale the whole thing....basicaly I'm wondering if I can get away with bolting it in and it still looking good and will have good performance.....any sugestions besides paying a muffler shop would help.....thanks

Umm, gaskets leak a lot more often than welds. I know you don't want to hear this but go to a shop. It shouldn't cost too much to have 2 sections of pipe welded in ($25-50). You can buy some collectors and gaskets to weld on the one end if you have to be able to take out the headers. I wouldn't kluge flex pipe in if I didn't have to. I have my headers welded directly to my pipes and have had no problems at all. Good luck.

I agree, I wouldnt use flex pipe. It wont cost that much to have the muff shop hook em up.......longhorn

Flex pipe is only good for a temp fix. I know I will run it on the caddy swap for a short while, but no longer than needed.
