Brakes, motor and tranny

I am trying to build my 67 Chevy C10, and i was wondering if there is maybe a car that would have a 5-speed, and some brakes that will all work on my truck. I am under the inpression that the disc brakes off of a 71 or 72 truck will work, but am really hoping that i might can find somethign with possibly all three, so that i might can get a wrecked car and be able to get brakes tranny and possibly even a V8 engine. thanks alot

Same thought as qksilver, good luck, I say watch out for the 71 or 72 truck being parted out or sold as a parts truck and snag it up, should be plenty still around your way..

THere's no car 5 speeds that are really all that worthey, and again, IMO, i wouldn't use car brakes on a truck.

Re: Brakes, motor and tranny

it would work, but probably not for long.
That is the T-5 tranny, the s-10 is a weak unit, the best one only holds 305 ft pounds, and most are more like 280 ft pounds...and both of those are in camaros with funny placed shifters and angled bellhousings.
