i really hate driveshafts.
really do..
ok first i go and have carrier bearing pressed on after trying and trying to slip off the old one with bench vice and block of wood and a BFH which normally works but owuldnt this time, then I go and get front U joint and rear conversion U joint to use from 3/4 ton shaft to 1/2 ton rear axle and i got the conversion one installed and went to slide the two shaft halves together and they will not go together right no amtter what i do, i evne tried filing down the splines ends and everything, none are keyed, all 16 splines are the same frickin size width and depth and all, relaly pissing me off, i got them to start by tapping with hammer on end of the front shaft, but now the damn things are jammed together and wont come apart no matter how hard i beat on it, so i guess i give up on that and have to find another shaft... this is how tihngs normally go when im trying to accomplish something.. really is getting to me these days., oh and the oil pressure sending unit snapped off in the block earlier, and i busted my knee on the front frame horn trying to break a bolt loose that frickin owuld not budge when i was removing intake manifold, and the intake was so fricking frozen to the heads and block that i had to break out the BFh and beat the snot out of the intake to break it free off the engien, it collapsed an intake runner, so i trashed a good 4 bbl non EGR intake, yay.. plus its pouring rain since last night and hasnt let up still... no i dont wanna tlak about it., this is why i am tired of wrenching on junk anymore,. anyone got a 3/4 ton 4speed V8 driveshaft ? anywhere? ------------------ Randy- Lincoln, IL r68c30@hotmail.com 2177353230 -71 C-10 350/CH465/3.07, assemble it, yeah right, that'll happen in this world,(not) -84 Z28 Camaro 5.0L 700R4, 3.73, beater, paid way too much for it like an idiot,, -84 Firebird SE 2.8L T-5, rod knocking, dammit,, -82 Firebird 350 4bolt (TBL)/TH350, not running, dammit... buy/sell/hoard/trade most any GM vehicle parts of any kind -parting out: '81 Cutlass Supreme Brougham *Paint is overrated © RSS Enterprises 2000 |

anyone think i could seriously damage driveshaft by using BFH on the yoke end of shaft, not on the Ujoint cap loops, but on the main partof the yoke ? just wondering.. ------------------ Randy- Lincoln, IL r68c30@hotmail.com 2177353230 -71 C-10 350/CH465/3.07, assemble it, yeah right, that'll happen in this world,(not) -84 Z28 Camaro 5.0L 700R4, 3.73, beater, paid way too much for it like an idiot,, -84 Firebird SE 2.8L T-5, rod knocking, dammit,, -82 Firebird 350 4bolt (TBL)/TH350, not running, dammit... buy/sell/hoard/trade most any GM vehicle parts of any kind -parting out: '81 Cutlass Supreme Brougham *Paint is overrated © RSS Enterprises 2000 [This message has been edited by Fast68Chevy (edited April 27, 2002).] |

Man I hear you 100% loud and clear. That's why I was so crazy while working on mine. I just about lost it.
I finally realized that I needed to just cool it. Calm the hell down, and think instead of swinging the BFH. Once I made that revelation it went smooth after that... ...anyway you have us for moral support! lol ------------------ '69 3/4 ton C20 2wd w/ 350ci/400THM and a wood bed! If your having a hard time paying for truck stuff, that hot chick will cost you even more. You certainly don't need more pain than the truck is dishing out. Just take a small break, cool back down, and get back at it. Wish you the best of luck.
