OverDrive
Are there any automatic Overdrive transmissions that are Direct swap-ins for the TH400? If so, what are they, what are they in, are they computer equipped, and how much would a conversion be?
Gearvendors is asking 2600 for their overdrive unit, not including installation (backyard) or the cost of a new forward driveshaft. A page I looked at wants 2900 for a complete 4L80E transmission Last edited by magnethead; 06-14-2006 at 08:46 PM. |

2600 is quite a bit... check out www.700r4.com they will have all the info you are going to want and need to swap in a GM 4 speed auto overdrive for a bit less, plus you get a whole rebuilt unit that can take the power.
also, no matter what you do, you are going to need a shorter driveshaft. hope that helps...
