firewall harness, what wires are these?
Sorry but no pic's on this one. I am looking for information on the harness that is located about 3 inches above the MAIN wiring harness, Just to the right of where the spedo cable exits the firewall. Looks to have about 5 wires in it. Behind the dash, it goes to a relay and the fuse box. Please help identify these wires. Goes on a 71 4x4 blazer with factory ac.

Re: firewall harness, what wires are these?
Where does that go from there the relay on the inside next to the fuse block on mine is the horn relay. I have one wire in that location and it goes to the blower motor relay and since yours has factory ac it could be the a/c/ switch relay. Mine has no air.

Re: firewall harness, what wires are these?
I believe it is the harness for the TCS (Transmission Controlled Spark) system.
Basically it's an emmissions thing. My harness was still still on my truck when I got it but the TCS solenoid was gone and the circuit was not functioning. I removed that harness when I switched to TPI.

Re: firewall harness, what wires are these?
I went and looked at the two rigs in the driveway. My '71 (build date 05/71) with AC did not have this harnass, nor did it have the dingleberry on the transmission. Engine calibration code AQ. US Dept. of N.E.W and CA. certified
My '72 CST(build date 04/72) had it. Engine calibration code LM, federal and CA compliant. In the harnass there was the feed to the coil, and 3 other wires (that I noticed) that went to a plug, (whatever it plugs into is gone, no suprise there) then down to the transmission.

Re: firewall harness, what wires are these?
its a thingie used in upholstery, its a little ball on a string, commonly seen (in the old days in cars driven by mexicans, and indian (not nativie) cab drivers in NYC. Also refered to "something" stuck to hair on a nether region of your backside that has balled up. I will let you draw your own conclusions.
