MC for 4 disc brakes
Hello all:
Happy fathers days to all fathers out there. If I go with 4 disc brake what kind of master cylinder should I use? Any year model of trucks? How about the power booster? I know I need 4 disc brake proportioning valve. Thanks.

Some have used the factory M/C with good results.
I put on one from a 78 Corvette,Corvette had 4 wheel disc's

BobbyK, Do you know if they are a bolt on on my67 style booster? And also I have 3/4 ton truck, does that matter in the size of MC?

I recently did this...four wheel disc
I went from a 3/4 ton burb to 1/2 ton and used all stock lines out of the master cylinder but put a manual prop valve for the rears right out of the stock prop valve... The guys at ECE told me that this would be best. Bill |

Yes, I bougt a set for the front from Brothers which is late 70 early 80 parts and then Black bird has set for the rear which I am thinking about. At this point I am just investigating the different parts specially MC which I am not clear about it.

let me know where and if u get any 8 lug disc conversion kit for the rear. I have a '72 c20 and I want to keep my mag 8 lug wheels and I want disc brakes all around.

i used the 14 bolt brackets and spacers on my eaton from off road designs,[ i think thats where i got them $61 ] 4wd front roters 76 eldorodo calipers and parking break cable. you could acualy modify front caliper brackets and weld them on if you are carful with your alignment i haventgot the rest of the truck done to know what i will need to do wit the proportioning valve yet. from what i've been told you just have to try it, some work as is some don't. as far as mc most people i talked to use the origanil but i like the idea of the corvette unit because the resivoirs are sized for the larger volume of fluid required for the calipers as the break pads wear
