electrical gremlin

i posted another thread on this problem when i thought it was my starter. now i know i have a short somewhere. my problem started immediately after i accidentally reversed polarity. everytime i think i fixed it, my battery is completely drained the next day. i have troubleshot and eliminated the alternator and my voltage regulator circuit. i plan on pulling fuses tomorrow to try to find the circuit. if anyone can think of a weak link i should start with i'd appreciate it. i really hope i dont have to go into my steering column. i have several complete wire harness' for my truck. i wonder if it will just be easier to replace all of my wires?

Re: electrical gremlin

i think it was a crossed jumper in the mess where i had wired my tranny lockup, glove box light, map light, and electric choke. when i pulled the mess apart my test light i had rigged to hang from my rearview went out. i don't want to get too confident yet, i have been wrong before. the horn relay was fine and my batteries are all optimas. i'll know tomorrow

Re: electrical gremlin

It was the choke.
You probably had all that wired up to a constant hot, right? That way the glove box light comes on when you open the box after you've parked. The choke is supposed to be on a switched circuit.
