Seat interchange / adaptation
Out of curiosity , what seat configurations have our members attempted ? I am told that a bench seat out of a 98 Chevy/GMC is almost a direct bolt in and will provide the fold down armrest/console that I'm looking for. What have our members done and can we see some photos ? I really need to maintain seating for 3 but I'd sure like to have the little console and armrest conveniences. Thanks for the help guys, Dean

Re: Seat interchange / adaptation
I have a seat from an 89 F150 in my LWB. I tok the GM sliders and used them in place of the ford ones. I just ground off the rivets and welded the GMs onto the ford frame with the correct spacing. this way it was bolted to my floor nice and safe. and I have a large forl down armrest with room for my thermos behind the elbows. (gotta have my coffee)

Re: Seat interchange / adaptation
Now that's a nice set-up ! How much fabrication was involved in the brackets and is the leg room sufficient for a 6'4" , 250 lb fat boy ? The late model seat appears to be the best bet to me. I also like the fact that the 3 point seat belts are built in. Can y'all get me some shots of the brackets ? Thanks, Dean

Re: Seat interchange / adaptation
The brackets are flat so they bolt up with new holes but you have to reinforce the floor where it bolts up because of the built in seat belts. Safety First. If I remember right I had to shim only one hole on each seat.I am shorter and 225 and have plenty of room (BUT) I had to move the column in towards the dash a couple of inches to get the tummy room. The center seat/ console uses the same mounting holes as the inside seat holes.
