Hey guys, I am looking to get a tailgate and cut the face off in order to weld on the Sir Michaels Smooth taigate skin and then run the handle relocator. Does anyone know what truck parts store carries the least expensive tailgate? I could care less if they are cheap because I am redoing it all anyways, the cheaper $$$, the better

Just ordered mine from The Truck Shop in So Cal. $149....and they claim it's good quality......we'll see.

Boy, that's a bad ass truck.....think it was at Pleasanton a few weeks back for Good Guys.

that truck was on ebay a week ago. it's the famous one from sport truck magazine.

if your just going to skin it anyways... find a take off used one.. Ive seen some on ebay go for $50 and up

Anyone else know where the cheap tailgates are? Someone (I thought) said they got one for like $100 somewhere. That is what I'm looking for since it's going to get cut up anyways.

i got one from wes , no letters , people say they are cheap , i stood on mine and i weigh almost 200 lbs it didnt bow at all and i paid i think 137 or so

I just sold my near mint one because I would have felt guilty about modifying such a nice original one. I don't mind modifying a repop

Plus, someone who needed a nice one got it, so I feel I have contributed to the 67-72 Chevy Family.

There is a place called CertiFit. They have some sheet metal for our trucks. They have a store in okc. I am not sure if they have one in CA. The price I remember last was about 110 for one a few years back. Check out there web site www.certifit.com . Hope this helps.

we have a new repro that came with a small dent in it. If you could find a way to get it their. Shipping it I think would cost too much to just cut it up. You can probably find one closer. We would let this one go for cost, If you can't find one closer. FYI We sell them with or w.o letters also.

I appreciate the offer but I think you're right, shipping will kill it. I think I'll hit up The Truck and Car Shop or Classic Industries to see if they have any damaged ones. I know it may be a long shot that they would have a damaged one because we all know that shipping companies never damage things
