What is this ?
Can some one explain this option to me ? This truck is on ebay and has an option on the trim tag that says YA8 Front Axle . It is a 2 wheel drive and I was just wondering what the front axle code refers to . I looked it up on 73-87.com and it says front axle 3250lbs. Front axle codes would seem to me to indicate some sort of 4 wheel drive option . Just curious . Frank

Check the VIN, C or K in the 5th Digit of the VIN, 81-87 (or 2nd digit 73-80) will tell you if it's a 2WD or 4WD, C =2WD, K=4WD. Could be it's not the original Glove Box Door, or it's Had the Cab Swapped.

It is a GMC and the vin on the trim tag and the one he has listed are the sam . They both start with TC. GMC 2 wheel drive right ? Frank

this is just a guess Frank, but Since i can't even find that code in my 1985 light truck parts/RPO book,I would say that it is just a heavy front BEAM style axle like in medium/heavy duty trucks or 'P' vans?? DAVID
