Working on her rear...LOL!
Well I've been doing the grill and bumper in the front and then came back to the rear of the truck to install the new Sport rear bumper. It is a re-production Tri-Plus 5 year warranty. Went on easy and fit like a glove. It looks like it's bowed in the pic....that is only an illusion, she's straight as an arrow! Going to concentrate on fitting the front grill, hood, and front bumper tomorrow.

Re: Working on her rear...LOL!
mine looks more bowed in the middle than it really is too. but it is a lil bowed, same bumper. i think tightening the license plate box brings the 2 sides together.

Re: Working on her rear...LOL!
I put a straight edge on the thing, it's perfectly straight...the bowed look must come from the chrome an the way the picture is captured???

68Stepbed is your bumper really bowed or is it a camera illusion? Mine is not bowed at all, just the camera. |

Re: Working on her rear...LOL!
look at the bed sides leaning out... his whole bed is curving to the bumper!
Lookin good dude. Amazing how much you get done after a huge hurdle is passed, like getting most of the body panels on, or getting the engine fired. |

Re: Working on her rear...LOL!
Hey ChevyDude, could you please do me a favor? Could you measure from the inside lip of your rear bumper to the rear cross sill? Mine is 2.5", I just want to be sure I am in the ball park.
Thanks! Bob

Bob, I haven't done all the final straightening/adjusting, but as it sits there now the passenger side is 2.25" and the drivers is 2.75, So by the time I pull out one side and push in the other, 2.5" seems just about right. Alex |

Re: Working on her rear...LOL!
Have to say this again... this bumper is NOT bowed at all. It is a camera illusion. Bumper is a Tri-Plus 5 year warranty bumper and if it were bowed it would be on the way back to the vendor.

Re: Working on her rear...LOL!
Mine is the same depending on the angle you look at it, and this is a factory bumper.

Re: Working on her rear...LOL!
Mine was apart for the last 3 years and is nearing completion. That thing doesn't look like it needed a frame up. But I do know when you want it clean....you want it clean. It was like a snowball out of control for me. Tear apart, blast, clean, wash, prime, paint and on to the next dirty part. Can't wait to finally finish this! Good luck on your frame off!!!

Re: Working on her rear...LOL!
Thanks I need all the luck I can get, it's been a few years since I've taken one down this far but I couldn't stand it any longer, yep I want it clean. The pictures make it look better than it really is. Your truck is awesome, I have been following all the threads. Keep them coming it's looking great.
