Disc Brake Guidance
I have the spindles, rotors and calipers from a 1971 truck to pu on my 70. Most guys are swapping over to 5 lug, but I am thinkin' of staying with 6 lugs. Questions is, do I need anything else of the 71 front end to swap the front discs on?
Another Q....I want rear discs down the road...can I do that with 6 lugs as well?

Re: Disc Brake Guidance
I'd check the tie rod ends and idler arm and pitman arm to be sure that they are the same for both year models. If so, I'm saying it's bolt-on.
As far as converting the rear to discs, there's nothing that money won't fix or alter, if you have enough of it. There's several companies making conversion kits to put discs on the rear axles of our trucks. I'm thinking somewhere around $600. If you want 6-lug rotors, I think there are a couple vendors on the website who sell them...GMCPaul, is one.

Re: Disc Brake Guidance
You will need to use 71-72 ball joints and tie rod ends, other than that the front is a go.

Re: Disc Brake Guidance
you can swap in parts off any new chevy pickup that's 6 lug for rear 6 lug disks, then just get the universal caliper brackets and weld them on.
