Power Brake Conversion Help
Guys & Gals, I need some help. I swapped everything from a 3/4 ton truck to my C-10. I had a few issues, like the master cylinder is switched front to back, etc. But I got it all together except one thing. The brake pedal to booster push rod. I did get the one from the doner truck, but it is about 1/2" too short. If I hook it up to the pedal, the pedal is depressed like half way and the brake lights come on. Is the piece that bolts to the pedal also longer than the C-10? I didn't take that piece, just the one that hooks to the linkage behind the booster.
If that isn't it, I'm at a total loss for ideas. Help! I can't drive my truck! HG

Re: Power Brake Conversion Help
The adjustable rod between the pedal and the booster on our K-20 setup is 9"
as measured from center of hole to center of hole. All of the power brake pedals that we have in our trucks are lower than the non-powered brake pedals. (I can measure one tomorrow if no one else posts a measurement). The brake light switch is adjustable. Jim |

Re: Power Brake Conversion Help
Jim, are you saying that the with power brakes, the peddle at rest does not rest against the stop? I like the idea of having the pedal lower, it just seems so wrong. But thanks for the info.

Re: Power Brake Conversion Help
That is correct. It sits a couple inches lower.
