Truck buckets ?

Hi,
Can anyone say if these seats are real pickup truck bucket seats? I have heard the Blazer bucket seats are not the same and won't fit. Seller says they came out of a 69 pickup but I just wanted to be sure.
I found them here in Sweden and I can get them for SEK 1500 ($200) or maybe a little less.
Also, does anyone know if I can put 71-72 covers on them and still use the original 69-70 foam (if it is good for reuse).
Thanks in advance.

Re: Truck buckets ?

Those are 69/70 truck buckets for sure( single scroll), but as far as the cover fitting there are conflicting stories. I've always heard the 71/72 were a little wider. I'm sure a more knowledeable user will set it straight shortly.

Re: Truck buckets ?

The only difference between blazer & PU is the brackets for the passenger side. The covers and seat foams are different shaped for 69-70 vs 71-2, so you will need new foams and covers to make them 71-2. The frames are the same.
You can make them work just fine...it only takes $$$$.

Re: Truck buckets ?

I wish I could find some for SEK1500,lol.That was the stationary passenger bucket you show in one picture. They are definately all original 69/70 truck/suburban seats. Some say you can use 71/72 covers on them, but I`m not so sure.Look at Frank`s(PICKMUP`s) comparison, yours are more tapered and narrower at the top.I would think you need the two 71/72 back foams to do it right.

Re: Truck buckets ?

Frank or anyone else-
I'm confused regarding "the only difference between the truck and blazer seat is the passenger brackets". I have a driver side 69-70 seat and it will not mount appropriately with the brackets that are on it right now. The problem is that the seat back hits the back of the cab. Basically the seat sits REALLY high in the front and leans back quite a bit. If I move it forward then there is very minimal room for my legs between the seat and the steering wheel.

Could someone explain this to me?

With that back panel on there that would be a blazer seat, and aren't the brackets a little taller on blazer seats. That would explain the seat hitting the back of the cab.

Re: Truck buckets ?

That's what I always thought, but Frank states they're the same except for the passenger side bracket.

Re: Truck buckets ?

I bought them, for SEK1000 ($140)
It's a good start I believe but I know I have to put a lot more $ in to them for foam and covers before they are ready for use.
Thanks everyone for very fast information and advice, this is the place to be
