Intake Question ARRRGH! Maybe DUMB
Long story short. I bought a Edelbrock intake 2101 off of e-bay. I recieved it y-day and it being used I went to there website for instructions and read that it does fit up to 86 350 smallblocks but it's not for Bowtie Heads??? Can anybody tell me what that means. My 350 has the stock heads but I am planning to either rebuild them or maybe upgrade. Any help on this would be highly appreciated. mmmk: :

Re: Intake Question ARRRGH! Maybe DUMB
It will fit the stock heads or the aftermarket stock design heads. The Chevy Bowtie heads, for the most part, are a "VORTEC" design which have the ports cut totally different sot here is no match. You will have no problem matching the factory heads or any head that is designed with a standard intake port, such as DART II Sportsmen heads.
Just shake your head and get rid of the basic "DUMB" moment and go forward. For more info go to The Scoggin Dickie Website for description of "Cylinder Heads". Last edited by piecesparts; 07-04-2006 at 01:16 PM. |

Like the others have said, the 2101 will bolt on fine to your stock heads.

Actually your wrong they arent anything near a VORTEC type of head. They were developed by by GMPP for racing back in the eighties for certain types of racing and have raised ports. The shape is near stock except the ports were raised to increase flow. |

Thanks for the help guys, I just didt want to b pissing my money away. Speaking of Cylinder Heads what do you guys think, would it be worth it to rebuild my existing heads or should I look for something else? Anyfeedback would be cool. I am planning on putting heders on as well, and am not sure if I should get the shorty mid or long style Well rambling again. The list to do seems neverending.LOL Thanks again for any input
