Tennman Fuel door questions
So I think I'm going to tackle my fuel door the Tennman Marker door way...except I have a fleetside. Going to try to do it without cutting the flawless steel floor this truck has. Question is, from what I read, the parts I need are a 97' S-10 round gas door and hinge, the aluminum filler tube, and the black plastic drip/catch piece. I did a nationwide salvage yard internet search and and Anderson Salvage yard says they have all those pieces for me. They want $85 and I would assume shipping is extra. Is this a good price for these 3 things?
If I'm missing something please fill me in. Alex Last edited by ChevyDude; 07-06-2006 at 09:54 AM. |

Re: Tennman Fuel door questions
That seems crazy high! I paid $30 for a complete silverado fuel filler door (88-98 style) which I think is the same as the mid-late 90's S-10's? I got everything including the bed sheet metal around it and the filler neck stuff.
Might want to try a WTB on the parts board?

Re: Tennman Fuel door questions
Dude, I have an extra S-10 door with a hinge. PM me your address and I will send it to you. I am going a different route, so I won't be needing it.
And it is red too!!

Re: Tennman Fuel door questions
Works for me either way. I can bring it to work, or if you want to come out to the house and snoop around the shop, that works too!

Works for me. If you have a fax, I have a cool map already made up on how to get to my place.

Re: Tennman Fuel door questions
Yup...Perfect...see you on the 15th 10:30 am ish!!! Hey Bob...how much $ do you want for the gas door? Or do you need any vent window rebuild felt...I have lots of parts sitting around that I'm not going to use.

Re: Tennman Fuel door questions
I was going to do the same marker fuel door mod. Problem is, California has these 2.5 in (or so) vapor vacuums built around the actual metal fuel nozzle...that would not do well to the paint around the marker, so I scratched the idea. I had already bought the S10 round door as well, oh well it was only $8. I think I will design something into the bed, like someone had done with a late model square truck fuel door.

Re: Tennman Fuel door questions
Don't need any $$ for it. Believe it or not, I have most all the parts I need except for a short list of stuff. But if you still have your old front bumper, I just need to borrow one to get an idea if that's what I want to use or not.

Re: Tennman Fuel door questions
Naw, don't need to do that. You are suppose to be installing parts, not removing them! I'll plasma cut some holes in my old one and hang it on there.

Re: Tennman Fuel door questions
You also might want to hit up or pm Yank. He has a short fleet that has the gas filler behind the left rear taillight, rather than the side marker. Just a suggestion!
