Re: Bare Cab In Bed

I've loaded one by myself too, no lift, just me, and my 500 pound cab.
I highly do NOT recomend doing it... but it can be done.

And yes, the cab will fit in a LWB or a SWB, place the center of the firewall stradeling the wheel well.

Well, while I agree wit you to a point... his truck made it home with that cab... I doubt he coulda done it in a Civic... or a 77 LTD Country Squire station wagon for that matter.

Re: Bare Cab In Bed

My buddy said he bought a "full size" truck (I had not seen it yet) and offered to go with me to pick up this cab. I had already bought and paid for it.

When I saw the truck, I was like "you gotta be kidding me"

He said "No No it'll fit...

OK...its your truck...

I should'a known...He's got 4 kids...He's not gonna get a regular cab!

Re: Bare Cab In Bed

me, 68350, his brother and his dad all lifted an AC cab off frame and set it on blocks. It was fairly easy, for me anyways, 68350 (a big ogre of a guy) had to lift probably the heaviest corner, but it can be done. I've manhandled a cab out of the back of a parts truck before, just me and my dad... right before we hooked a tow rope around it and wrapped it around the hitch on my 97 and flipped/pulled the parts 69 on it's side (funny thing is, I FORGOT to get pictures) so we bent one cab corner in...but the concept can still apply (and the picture of that could have applied to a Redneck Engineering place... parts truck, flipped on it's side by a towrope hooked on to another truck...yeah, real safe, huh?)
