Re: Removing speed minder .

Whole dash bezel-- buzzer from under dash-- and wiring harness goes from back of bezel to buzzer then to fuse box

Re: Removing speed minder .

Oh crap , what's that wire running from the speedo gage to the tin ? Some kind of ground ? I couldn't get it out without destroying it , so i had to leave it in . Will i need that to install in my 68 ? Donor truck is headed to the Swap meet tomorrow morning . Anyone else going to the Spokane Swap Meet ?

It's the white wire with the black plastic end , it slips on to a stud that's attached to the tin cover . The problem was i didn't have a non - deluxe gage panel , so i just changed out the speedo only . I'm sure i can improvise something . Thanks for your help .

Re: Removing speed minder .

You need that stud on the back of the metal tin...and it cant be grounded...it has a fiber washer to keep it seperated from the metal.

Its the path of electricity to complete the circuit back to the buzzer once the needle makes contact in the head.

Re: Removing speed minder .

There is an additional needle in the speedometer head...you set that needle to a desired speed..when your orange needle comes up to that preset speed...you set off the buzzer...warning you that your speeding. Was an option on 67-69 trucks..a fairly rare option.
There were in cars also...but trucks seem even rarer.
