Installing a new brake booster
I am installing a power brake booster on my previously manual truck. I got it all tightened down and everything... but it the pedal sticks at the bottom of the floor when depressed... you have to pull it back up after pushing it in. Can anyone help me on what is going on here and what i need to do to fix it. Thanks.

its on there... do i need a more bulky one for the pb? or could it be a vaccuum issue?

It wouldn't be a vaccuum issue, sounds more mechanical though. Check for binding. How about the pushrod? is it clean, free from contamination? Straight and not bent? Did you also check to see if the bolt is too tight on the swingarm mount? The swingarm, or pedal arm, should move freely.

are these parts you installed new?
could be any number of things if not.. the pedal rod is different for power brakes vs manual brakes the rod between the booster and master needs to be the correct length. did you bench bleed the master cyl? checking it's operation ? we need details here!!! |

I switched the pushrod to the other side of the pedal because i couldn't get it in otherwise. I think this maybe my problem.... Hopefully.
