Still Fighting this..
my 69 has an HEI all new dizzy parts from pickup, module, cap, rotor, and Accel coil. Well here in lies the problem. my truck starts and runs down the road fine, until you get into it. WOT it dies, TACH goes to ZERO. Its almost like it loses power to the dizzy. So first I thought, when the Vaccum adv open it causes a ground. So remove the vaccum line and try, same thing. I can move the hot wire at the coil back and forth, and it will die out the same way. Ok I thought first it was the wire. So I made a new 12AWG wire from the battery directly to the dizzy. Same results. HMMMM. Ok it has to be the coil (3months old) so I take it back a get a new one. put it on and exact same thing. Now I have no idea what to do.
Could it be grounding issue? Or crossfiring inside the dizzy? What should I look for?

Re: Still Fighting this..
Check the wire going to the pole piece in the distributer. I had a simular problem and the wire was broke. I t make a connection until you gave it the gas.
