Well I am finally making progress on my 69. Getting the rust taken care of, welding up the spare tire carrier holes, CB antenna holes, dents here and there. the PO for some REASON decided to hammer the heck out of the firewall...guess he didn't think the HEI would fit??? anyway got that shrunk down and straightened. Luckily I happened to meet a guy here that is helping me, his eye for detail on high and low spots, techniques is amazing. I hope to learn as much as possible, hopefully even finish body work and painting! I will say that the Tri-plus doors I bought were in serious need of tweaking before we could get them to hang right and line up! Next time it's Goodmark all the way! Anyway here you go......

looks good!! i have heard alot guys say the doors fit bad.and goodmark and tri-plus are the same doors.

Ian, it was a CST originally but no AC...so I picked this dash up from a local guy, it's been cut but otherwise in good shape. So to answer your question, the new AC dash has been welded in. I am going with Vintage Air as the heating/cooling system.

Looks like a very good base to start with. How thin and weight are the doors compared to the oem doors?

the aftermarket doors feel like they are half the weight, I'm not sure what guage they are but hind sight being 20/20, I think I would have invested the time and effort to fix the cracks, rust and sheetmetal on the original doors. For instance the front door pillar on the door was over an inch too far forward to even shut, let alone get a good body line, we had to cut and re-weld it to line up right. For what you pay for the doors plus outrageous shipping charges...well like I said, I think it would have been cheaper in the long run and repair the old doors and then you know you have a door that fits.

Nice work, looking good!!! Man am I glad I went with Goodmark, mine bolted right up. Haven't bolted fenders on yet, but it looks like it should work. I don't think I would have the ability or the guts to cut brand new doors [cost over $800.00] I thought that was the purpose of buying new sheet metal, so you don't have play with it alot. I could understand a little fitting but that sounds extreme!!

If I remember correctly, the boxes did have a Triplus logo on it, could I be wrong? So much for the quality stickers on it.

I am thinking of painting it either a light green or soft blue metallic. Not sure on the top, but not body color. This as you can see it's hugger orange and I'm just not an orange guy. When I got this blazer even the inside of the top was orange and man you sat in it and talk about being overwhelmed with ORANGE..

The interior will be tan's and browns, I have buckets from an 05' Silverado that are a nice nuetral tan and I will have the back seat recovered to match. That's about as far as I've got thinking about finish work....need to stay focused on the work at hand...I do want to get the body competely painted while it's just a shell on the frame though so hope to have that done before winter.
