Just Acquired

I got this truck last night. 71 C20 custom deluxe, 350/350, headmen headers, edelbrock intake/1406 carb, HEI, alloy wheels.
It ran really bad and died several times on the way home (strong smell of fuel). I rememberd old posts about the edelbrock carbs having problems, did a quick search of the posts and found the answers I needed. Special thanks to ( 68 with 350 TPI )(Dirt Dobber ). The problem was to much fuel pressure, installed fuel regulator ( 2nd pic ) and now it runs great.

Sorry about the bad pics.

Glad you found the problem so quickly. Just wanted to mention that it would be a good idea to change the oil now incase any extra fuel got in there.

Have fun with the new truck...

Before I installed the regulator I tried screwing the idle mixture all the way in ( lean ) and could only pull 15 inches of vacuum and running very rich, now with the regulator I got'em out about 2 turns and pulling 22 inches of vacuum.

22 inches huh? I'm lucky to get 15 on mine. That's why I don't have power brakes.
