I bought this truck last fall for 750 bucks and it ran strong, but then I had trouble getting it restarted. It would usually start up first try, but eventually it woulden't start at all. I know it's electrical, and I'm getting fuel. It just cranks and cranks but wont fire. I'm thinking Ignition module, but I need some feedback from anyone who's had similar problems...help

Re: 1990 GMC Sierra 1500
The computer needs to receive a distributor reference pulse from the distributor module to trigger the injectors.
If by getting fuel you mean, the injectors are spraying fuel, then the ECM is getting a signal from the module. This does not mean the module is good. but it does mean the pickup coil in the distributor is working. Possibilities: Ignition coil, Coil wire Distributor (ignition) module Distributor cap, Distributor rotor |

Re: 1990 GMC Sierra 1500
Can they test the module like on the earlier HEI's?
