another no brain question

ok another question since Im to lazy to surf all the parts places to find out for myself. when I got my truck the front clip was gone. the guy told me it was a 72. I got the title today and it said it was a 71. now the question is this. in the bed there was 2 grills(as well as a rusty set of inner fender and fairly descent outer fenders rad. support and such. on the grills one has a big square cutout spanning the length of the grill between the headlights. almost looks like the ones that have the plastic square in the middle. the other one has a solid piece across the middle of this and a cutout on the upper and lower section for plastic. it also has the blinkers in the metal piece across it. exactly what do I have and do either one actually go to the truck? I know they both fit. was thinking about using the one with the lights in it so I can put a bumper on without blinkers. but for originality purposes though it got me curious.
thanks,
Dan

the first one would be the correct grille(it is the 71-72 grille .
the second one is the 69-70 grille with the turn signals in the grille..

on a 71-72 the turn signals go in the bumper.

A "72" would have the rear view mirror mounted on the windshield and a '71' would be mounted on the headliner.

May those who love us, love us, any of those who do not love us, may God turn their hearts.
And if God is unable to turn their hearts, may he turn their ankles so we may know them by their limping.

A man who works with his hands is a laborer; a man who works with his hands and his brain is a craftsman; but a man who works with his hands and his brain and his heart is an artist.
