One Piece Oil Pan Gasket HELP!
I bought a blue Felpro 1-piece oil pan gasket for a 1976 block/383 stroker. There's no directions with it. Also using a Milodon street/strip stroker pan.
Do you use any type of sealer with this gasket? Last edited by greyno3; 07-14-2006 at 07:18 PM. |

Re: One Piece Oil Pan Gasket HELP!
Only place you might want to use a dab of sealer is in the corners next to the front and rear seal.

Re: One Piece Oil Pan Gasket HELP!
FYI I put a Moroso 7 quart oil pan on my 327 and after several quarts or oil i had to put a "thicker" oil pan gasket (suggested by Summit)
http://store.summitracing.com/partde...0&autoview=sku before you get totally aggravated you might want to call their tech support before you go through the hassle of changing and then have to change it again....... Trying to save you some frustration.... You apply totally dry no sealant at all!!! |

Re: One Piece Oil Pan Gasket HELP!
This is how I did it. Worked great. Only put a dab of sealant on the corners...

Re: One Piece Oil Pan Gasket HELP!
Thank you for the info everyone. I'll put a dab of "the Right Stuff" in the corners. I also had to modify the gasket for the stroker clearence. The rods were hitting the lip.

Re: One Piece Oil Pan Gasket HELP!
another thing they don't tell you is the one piece gaskets won't work with creat engines.the blocks on the creat engines are machined for dipsticks on both sides rather than right or left.after buying a one piece i had to go buy 2 more pan gaskets[one rirht and one leftdipstick]to make one
