'67 C10 rebuild advise
Need some advise from all you gurus. My better half has a 67 c10 Fleetside w/327 powerglide transmission. Going to son @ 16. It needs some work. Body is fairly good. Engine needs "refreshed". Between this, that and the "other", ex, that is, $ is tight, time is even tighter. Where do you suggest starting? I would really like to sneak in some things when I drive it to work. Can someone give me a good plan to follow? BTW, 16 yr old may not get this one...I have been driving Blue for a couple of months and think I love him more than my better half.

Re: '67 C10 rebuild advise
Yea, what rage'n said. We need some pics... Some advice that you and others may disagree on. If this will be your son's first car, spare that ol' truck and keep it for yourself. Give it to him as a college grad present. We've all seen teens get 60's and '70's Chevelles, Novas, Camaros and other really nice cars/trucks and beat the piss out of them showing off for friends. I'd give my left arm for ONE nice collector car, and I see many well meaning fathers give them to their boys as birthday presents etc. only to turn them into scrap metal in the end.
Oh, almost forgot, Welcome to the board, here you'll find a collection of the most knowledgeable chevy truck guys anywhere!

Re: '67 C10 rebuild advise
Start with the mechanical.Get the son a cheapie Honda and if he wants a truck bad enough help him build one so he will appreciate it.Start him off with a basket case.He can wear the Honda out while he's building.Besides he can afford the fuel for a Honda easier.
Do the brakes, steering and then engine ,tranny.Definitely go to a 350 turbo(3speed auto) or an overdrive.Gas ain't getting cheaper.Make the interior comfortable enough to drive.Bodywork and Paint prep take lots of time and effort or lots of $$$.
