Question Sheetmetal measurements and question on body line

Can somebody with a LWB fleetside bed meaures the size of the bedside from front of bed to front edge of wheel opening (see green line). Also, do all of the bed lines stay completely horizontal in this space (the topmost line looks like it might not be exactly horizontal-- see red line)

No it does not stay parallel to the ground it tapers downward just slightly. Maybe not even noticable.

I will measue the line from the top of the bed to the body line tonight to be sure for you. As well as the measurement you asked for.

I can get measurements tonight and post tomorrow.

Rats! I was hoping that it didn't start the taper until further back. I would be tacking 2 (or more, depending on their dimensions) together to create a single, wider panel with those body lines in it... so if it's tapering at all, it would show.

Thanks in advance for the measurements.

How about using a couple of door skins? They will probably contain most of the curves that you want. You may have to slice and dice them a little, but it would save you time from trying to chop up a bed.

You know if they both tapered inward on the tailgate it might just look cool.

Yeah, I've got doors ;-)... so I am going to do my own measurements on the skins this evening. I was going to do it last night but we had an all-night veterinarian visit

Possibly... sort of like the old tri-five car trunk emblems.
