billet grille insert for 67-68?

Well, as yall may or may not know.. I'm going ot be using a 67 front clip on my truck, so I've been looking at many many trucks trying to see what kind of look I'm going for.

where I do love the front end stock, I find that it feels like, in some examples of the trucks, that the truck is... naked. I'm thinking perhaps some horizontal billet grille inserts may spruce things up a bit.

anyone have any pics of such a thing?

cool, looks good, not sure if thats what I'm looking for.

my problem is.. for every resto truck I see, 1 out of every like.. 12 looks good to me, the rest look.. bad.. I dont know what it is, I can't pinpoint it. I'm afraid I'm going to make the same mistake, or do the same thing, and wind up not liking my own truck.

The truck in the picture looks really nice, but something about that cab.. it looks proportionally larger than it should be..

ah maybe I'm just being too picky

thakns for the help guys.

Darkfox, I think I have the same problem about being too picky. But I think the truck looks off proportion is because it is a off angle shot and it's low so it make the cab look like it was custom made for Shaq, but also when you lower a truck, it throws off the proportions of the cab.

I feel strangely compelled to perpetuate this "picture in picture" thing we've got going here...

BTW, I think this issue of proportionality is why a very small top chop is in order for lowered trucks.

hahaha you guys are too much

The reason I did that pic of the computer screen is that when I tryed to attach the pic I got (too big to attach).

Well I was lazy and dident feel like re sizing the pic.
I had a digi cam here and I figured what the heck this will take like 3 seconds with the 3.5 floppy disk in the mavica

NO way I would go through the trouble of getting film developed for that

But hey look this is kinda neat

Here's the same pic not taken from a pic of my screen if you wanna play around and chop it. I like this grill and would seriously consider doing it to my 67.

ya, I'll definatley look into it. if I could only find a brand.. I know someone makes em, cos I've seen it before, cos I was looking at them back when I had the 71 front end, but decided I didn't like them in the 71.. but now I have the 67 front end.. so thats changed.

I'm only doing a 2/4 drop.. I dont think a chop would be needed for such a thing.. I mean when I got the truck it probablly had the equivalent of a 2/4 drop from age :P

That would be nearly the perfect truck if you were to take 2 feet out of the bed.

And maybe remove the rain gutters.

And here's a mild top chop for those of us who are bothered by the proportionality...

is it maybe the camera angle, or does that truck fade from a very dark blue to black right along the front? I konw a guy that wants a paintjob like that on his truck..

I like the 1 peice window also.. I was considering that.. but I'm not far enough along to really determine that.. I want my truck to be sporty, but not slammed, a 2/4 drop is as low as I'm going.. I dont want HUGE rims, but I want a smooth look. With the '67 front end.. that means I'm going to have no side markers, and since I'm relocating the gas tank, no filler neck on the cab either.

I dont want black.. its impossible to take care of.. plus it gets pretty hot inside lol

my layout for the truck currently:

67 front end 69 SWB frame, fleetside box
GM 12 bolt 3.73 posi TH400 tranny, ~450-400 flexplate HP 350 (or 383 stroked)
a/c p/s p/b maybe p/w p/l depending on how hard these are
leather seats out of maybe a tahoe, console out of probablly the same tahoe
stock guages with tach
nice stereo with kick panel components, sub(s) where the gas tank was
flush mount paint color bed cover with rhino lined interior
maybe a filler neck door off of an S-10 or something rounded so that it keeps the sporty look but has practicality
HID or diamondback halogen headlights
shaved emblems, but no shaved handles/mirrors.. too impractical
and now this billet grille

hows that sound? heh
